One Engine Family, Different Front Drive Requirements
Ford's 302 and 5.0L names refer to the same engine displacement, just as 351 Windsor and 5.8L describe the same displacement. Those labels alone do not identify the water pump rotation, timing cover or accessory drive arrangement.
Match the Pump, Cover and Drive Together
Standard-rotation and reverse-rotation applications need the appropriate combination of water pump, timing cover and belt routing. Confirm that the selected serpentine system matches the setup you intend to retain or build.
Next, review radiator hose placement, balancer requirements and accessory clearance. These details matter when fitting a later engine into an earlier Mustang, Bronco, truck or custom chassis.

What if my engine came from a later fuel-injected Mustang?
A later Mustang 5.0L engine is a useful starting clue for a reverse-rotation setup. Confirm that its original pump and timing cover arrangement is still present, especially if the engine has been rebuilt or installed in another vehicle. You will want to select "5.0L-WRAPTOR" kits not "302-WRAPTOR".
Can I identify rotation from the radiator hose side alone?
No. Radiator hose location and pump rotation are separate fitment details. Check the pump's identification or specifications and its compatibility with the installed timing cover.
