CVF vs. Competitors

CVF vs. Competitors

CUSTOMERS FIRST. INCREDIBLE QUALITY. AFFORDABLE TO ALL.

Those are the three principles that CVF Racing is built upon and what has allowed us to become the industry's fastest growing provider of premium brackets, pulleys, serpentine & v-belt systems and engine accessories. It is also what helps to differentiate us against our competitors.

We get the question all the time “Why are you so much cheaper than your competitors?” For starters, we only sell direct to consumers and our hand selected dealer network. Without having to artificially raise prices to cover margins for a two-step distribution model it allows us the flexibility to offer a savings on the product to the customer and to do our own focused and targeted marketing vs relying on someone else to do it who wouldn’t know our customer(s) as well as we do.

Being that we are the research, engineering, sales, marketing and manufacturing all rolled into one it means that we also have a pretty good finger on the pul nse of what customers are looking for. Being a fairly small company in relation to our competitors and our industry we have the flexibility to make changes faster and introduce new products or niche products much quicker to the marketplace.

CNC MACHINED IN THE USA
When we say that something is CNC machined in the USA we are saying that we are starting with solid USA 6061-T6 billet aluminum stock and machining them to the finished product you see available and what our customers have been so pleased with. Many of our competitors also machine their parts in the USA, but there are also many that don’t. The ones that don’t are usually offering a cheap, imported cast product.

When you start with solid stock and machine away material you end up throwing a lot of aluminum on the floor to get to the finished product. With a cast piece you pour molten aluminum into a mold and only use what is necessary to make the product. This allows the manufacturer to reduce a lot of cost in material and machining but the main reason this is important is in the manufacturing of the aluminum from the beginning. Solid 6061-T6 is solutionized and tempered to remove impurities and strengthen the material vs blended and melded together with other types of materials creating weak points. Weak points can also be created during the casting process from voids in the casting or even the final product curing at varying and inconsistent temperatures. This results in broken brackets and pulleys and in some more extreme cases, catastrophic engine or part failure stemming from the imbalance created from an imbalanced pulley.

POWERFUL 8-RIB SYSTEM DESIGN

All CVF serpentine systems are 8-rib vs a traditional 6-rib. So why is this important? For starters, let’s be honest with the fact that it just looks cool. Having a wide belt kind of gives customers the look of having a super charger without the additional cost or headache that comes with it. But there is also a performance advantage to the 8-rib design. An 8-rib belt provides 33% more belt to pulley contact resulting in more grip and additional strength of the belt itself. This additional grip not only means that there is less slipping or belt squealing but that there is not as much tension needed. Less tension on the belt increases belt and accessory life by building less heat in the belt and less torsional load on bearings.

ALL-INCLUSIVE AND ADDITIONAL ACCESSORIES

At CVF we do our best to cater to the customers. The first upgrade most of our customers do is buy a chrome alternator which is why our Beast serpentine and V-Belt lines start as brackets and pulleys as the base. We have a complete line of accessories available but don’t want to force anyone to use ours if they have a perfectly new good one they want to re-use. Our Wraptor serpentine systems come all-inclusive which means that at the bare minimum we include the alternator, power steering pump and AC compressor. In most cases we also include the water pump as well. We also include the AC compressor manifold and hub adapter so that when the kit arrives it is ready for plumbing and wiring.

UNPARALLELED CUSTOMER SUPPORT
At CVF, our trained team of technical experts are here to help you with any questions or feedback you have by phone, email or online support. We pride ourselves in delivering customer service that tries to reach “legendary” status. We want our customers to be so pleasantly surprised by how easy we are to do business with that they tell their friends about our products. When customers have issues with our products we intentionally bend over backwards to try and turn them into ambassadors of our product. We do things that most companies would not do, or they would charge for. Some examples include:

  • Running shipments to the local hub for a customer in need that didn’t hit the shipping cutoff.
  • Sending customers “loaner” parts from our scratch and dent inventory if we are temporarily out of stock
  • Issuing refunds without question even if the parts have been installed or damaged
  • If a customer needs different spacers, hardware, etc. to make a kit work we will send out new parts that same day to get things working. We do this free of charge, no questions asked. Even if they just lost some of the parts.
  • If a customer needs to exchange a part, we will usually send out the replacement part before receiving the returned item even when the customer ordered wrong
  • We frequently make special configurations to meet custom applications

EASE OF INSTALLATION
We design and manufacture our systems so they're easy to install. Every order includes a detailed instruction guide complete with photos and helpful tech tips. In addition, our knowledgeable staff is available via email, phone and online support. Our Wraptor systems also feature a beefed-up main bracket which eliminates the need for rear support brackets. This unique feature not only speeds up installation but also solves a lot of problems like deck height differences, unique head/block combinations, crank triggers, etc.

LIFETIME WARRANTY

We believe so strongly in our products that we offer a Lifetime Warranty on CVF manufactured items which you would hard pressed to find anywhere else. This warranty covers items designed and manufactured by CVF including Serpentine Kits (excludes hardware & belts); V-Belt Kits (excludes hardware & belts); Individual Brackets and Pulleys; Engine Accessories: Alternators, Power Steering Pumps, Water Pumps and AC Compressors. Life Time Warranty coverage is not available for 3rd party manufactured products like Gates Belts, Fastenal Hardware or Vintage Air Surefit AC Systems. Additionally, any upgrade options like hydroboost or high output alternators revert to those manufacturers specified warranties.

COATINGS AND FINISHES
CVF offers optional finishes and upgrades like C3 Ceramic Clear Coat and Stealth Black Anodize. Our C3 Ceramic Clear Coat is an optional protective coating applied to our Wraptor serpentine systems that outperforms clear powder coat in terms of scratch resistance, chemical resistance and stability. So you get a low-maintenance finish that out-performs the competition but is also 1/3 the thickness so it doesn’t affect tolerances on machined parts.

While many manufacturers of aluminum parts use anodizing, we choose to use Bright Dip anodizing which provides all the benefits of regular anodizing like protection against corrosion and wear and improved heat dissipation. But, Bright Dip offers rich, vibrant color and depth to the part which enhances the smooth appearance of the aluminum leaving a brilliant satin finish.
